The resolution commends the Obama Administration's commitment to Israel's survival and security, as well as the administration's moves to initiate a new diplomatic effort to achieve a two-state solution. The legislation also calls upon the parties to the conflict and the international community to take concrete steps to bolster the prospects for peace, including by combating anti-Israel terror and efforts to deny the deep historical, cultural, and spiritual connection of the Jewish people to Israel. Twenty-Seven Senators Call for “Sustained, US Diplomatic Initiative” for Two-State Solution

On the eve of President Obama’s trip to Israel, 27 Senators have signed on to a letter authored by California Senator Dianne Feinstein calling for a sustained US diplomatic initiative to help forge a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians based on a two-state solution.
